Crushing is a material-processing task: feed material enters the machine and processed material leaves it to meet a specified requirement. For an experienced crusher operator approaching CPCS renewal, the important starting point is the A42 card category and the learning mapped to it.
NOCN’s category material covers mobile or static crushers. Its assessment context includes space for the crusher, loading arrangements and unprocessed and processed material. That background explains why the whole material flow matters, rather than only the crushing unit. It is category context—not a list of separate lessons promised in the renewal CPD.
NOCN lists A42 Crusher and A43 Screener separately. Reducing material and separating it by size are different functions. Even when equipment works together, use the code on your card and check each renewal requirement; a combined processing line does not make the categories interchangeable.
If you also operate the machine that feeds the crusher, check that category separately. Existing pages include A21 Wheeled Loading Shovel and A22 Tracked Loading Shovel. Ask us to check module overlap before purchasing several bookings.
The NOCN renewal tool links A42 to Earth Moving and Compaction. Study the current shared CPD material online at your own pace. This booking supports renewal development for an existing cardholder; it does not provide initial crusher training or a practical technical test.
✓ Book the A42 category page at £75.
✓ Contact hello@slbrothers.co.uk with your reference and card categories.
✓ TrainifyHUB checks the booking and arranges external enrolment manually.
✓ Follow the NOCN access and learning instructions supplied.
Allow approximately 2 hours for planning. It is a guide rather than an official minimum: reading pace, review needs and NOCN’s current material affect the time. Complete the learning requirements and retain the evidence provided. The separate CPCS card-renewal process still needs to be completed.
Read NOCN’s A42 category documents for category reference, and the current renewal CPD guidance for the learning route.
For your own preparation, consider the complete work area: how material reaches the crusher, where processed material goes, and how the equipment interacts with other plant. These prompts connect the booking to a crusher operator’s working environment; they are not operating instructions or an invented provider syllabus.
A42 is mapped to Earth Moving and Compaction. Follow the actual NOCN learning assigned to your renewal and answer the questions presented within it. The provider’s current material governs the detailed content.
A cardholder works on a processing line and holds both a crusher category and a loading-shovel category. They list both codes when arranging renewal instead of assuming the whole line is covered by the word crusher. A mapping check helps identify what learning is required without purchasing overlapping study unnecessarily.
✓ Confirm that the card category is A42 rather than A43 or the feeding-machine code.
✓ Check overlapping learning if several categories need renewal.
✓ Retain the completion record and meet the separate current card-renewal requirements.
20 questions answered
A42 identifies Crusher. NOCN lists Screener separately as A43. Check the actual category printed on your card, particularly when both machines are used on the same processing line.
NOCN’s A42 assessment documentation refers to mobile or static crushers. Confirm your own card category and any endorsements when arranging renewal; this is CPD rather than a practical assessment booking.
No automatic assumption should be made. The feeding machine can have its own card category, so tell us all the codes that need renewal before booking.
Use your card details rather than the appearance of the plant. Combined equipment does not make distinct category entries interchangeable; ask for a check if you are uncertain.
Consider the material flow and how your own task fits around loading and discharge activities. These are useful reflection prompts, not a substitute for the actual NOCN module or site procedures.
This page does not provide operating or maintenance instructions. Use appropriate training, authorised site procedures and the manufacturer’s guidance for your equipment.
Ask us to check the current module mapping first. Different card categories may share learning, so separate category pages do not necessarily mean repeated study.
The NOCN renewal tool identifies Earth Moving and Compaction for A42. The learning is shared CPD, rather than a separately promised crusher-only syllabus.
No. Initial category training and assessment are a different route from continuing professional development for renewal.
Use the NOCN A42 support-document link in the description. Category training or practical-test documents explain the role but should not be mistaken for the renewal CPD syllabus.
Provide your booking reference and the category codes you need to renew. Explain if the card description or the machine used at work appears different, so the category can be checked before enrolment.
It is online self-paced learning, not a scheduled classroom session. Arrange a suitable period to concentrate and follow the external platform’s access instructions.
Use approximately 2 hours for planning. It is not an official minimum or a guaranteed finish time; pace, review needs and the available content affect duration.
£75 for this category booking. Confirm separate renewal applications, additional services and any other charges before purchase.
Enrolment is arranged manually. Contact hello@slbrothers.co.uk after purchase and follow the individual instructions once your learning access has been set up.
NOCN’s current route uses renewal CPD in place of the old renewal tests. Follow the current learning requirements and in-course questions rather than relying on an old test format.
No. Retain your completion evidence and meet the remaining current CPCS requirements through the separate renewal process.
NOCN’s A42 Crusher support page provides its category documents. The link in the course description helps you distinguish category assessment material from renewal CPD.
No. Evidence of CPD does not by itself establish practical competence or authorise operation of equipment on a site.
Email hello@slbrothers.co.uk before purchasing if your card code, category description or overlapping renewal learning is unclear.
✓ Distinguish an A42 crusher booking from an A43 screener booking.
✓ Identify how the crusher category relates to the loading equipment used alongside it.
✓ Review the current Earth Moving and Compaction renewal content assigned by NOCN.
✓ Connect refresher learning with the material-flow context of your existing crusher work.
✓ Check your completion evidence and outstanding card-renewal requirements.
This page helps an existing crusher cardholder separate three decisions: the processing category being renewed, any other plant categories held, and the CPD learning required for those codes. That is especially useful when a crusher, screener and loading machine work as one production line.
✓ A42 is clearly identified before you arrange enrolment.
✓ Crusher and screener distinctions help avoid a booking based only on a site job title.
✓ Related loading-machine links support a multi-category mapping check.
✓ Independent online study can be planned around your shifts.
CPD supports professional development; it is not authorisation to operate a crusher or to undertake maintenance.
Keep the completion evidence supplied through the NOCN learning route with your A42 renewal records. Follow the current provider and CPCS instructions when completing your application. TrainifyHUB does not issue a replacement CPCS card or certify practical crusher competence through this online page.
